Cannabis

Some plants have an affinity with the brain that enables them to alter consciousness, sometimes in profound ways.

Although use of these plants is generally outlawed, they remain in wide use.

The cannabis plant, in particular, remains very popular and is now being studied in great detail by breeders and researchers alike, particularly in places where drug laws have been liberalized.

The cannabis plant provides endless fascination for researchers due to it's highly complicated chemical makeup, which makes endless combinations possible for the breeder, with the different effects that these components have on the consumer.

My preferred cannabis market is a free market

In Australia, the government is shaping to divide the cannabis market into:

(1) Medicinal cannabis (LEGAL): controlled by governments and the medical establishment, and available to a very small number of sick patients, and,

(2) Recreational cannabis (ILLEGAL): left to the "black market" to produce and sell, free of government regulation, and available to the general public without the need for a doctor's prescription.

My preferred market for both recreational and medicinal cannabis is a fully free market, with private growers, branding of products, and independent testing agencies that provide independent product advice, all privately funded and owned.

None of these things require government involvement, and because cannabis is a very low-risk product, government regulation of the market is not needed, except perhaps to require shops to sell the product to adult customers, only.

The advantages of the free market approach are many:

(1) Lower prices for consumers, due to enhanced competition and a lack of red tape.

(2) Encouraging greater product innovation, leading to safer and more effective products.

(3) Branding is encouraged, leading to greater market trust and higher quality products.

(4) Greater choice of products available.

(5) No cost to the taxpayer to subsidize inefficient, over-bureaucratised government production and distribution services,

(6) Keeping the industry in the hands of the people, not big business or the government.

Nutritional needs of smoking marijuana: BUZUGEE

buzugee:

i believe [smoking MJ] takes your mentals and spirit to a whole new level of consciousness that you can and will never achieve consciously. the only negative thing about it though is that in the trance of your new consciousness and the awakening of all your senses, this saps your body of a lot of nutrients and hence why you get the munchies. your body is crying out for nourishment. now the trick in not destroying your body when smoking weed is to cure the munchies with green vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. stay away from fast foods. this is how people go crazy on weed.

Minimising PARANOIA in drug use

Any mental stimulant has the potential to cause paranoia in the individual. This is not unique to cannabis, but also includes the use of large doses of coffee, too long spent in rooms with insufficient air, the experience of heights. The body is placed in overdrive under these circumstances and the result for some individuals is large doses of fear, a.k.a PARANOIA!

There is a solution to this, of course. Paranoia arises with the thought "something is wrong". This thought is often connected to the physical experience of something being VERY WRONG IN THE BODY- insufficient oxygen intake. A revved up system needs revved up inputs to keep the body from beginning to signal very strongly that SOMETHING IS WRONG!

The intake of watered down juice or some other substance with safe and healthy doses of readily available energy also enhances this process.

Generally such periods of enhanced NUTRITION and OXYGEN needs are quite limited in terms of time. To deal with such periods effectively swift outdoor breezes, preferably cool, or the use of a room fan and the glass of readily available juice can be used.
