Compulsory schooling puts people in the mindset of being “fed” life…

Which is bad for individual self-determination and get-up and go!

Human will is something we need to develop so that the life we lead reflects OUR WILL, not the will of others who don't know what's best for us.

Compulsory schooling, where lessons are "fed" to the student, without them having any say in the matter, overrides individual will and results in the production of young adults with poor will power that just go along with the herd.

The high rates of youth suicide and depression is a sign that young people don't have the tools to deal with life in a constructive way.  A big part of this is, I believe, due to the fact that young people have never been given the responsibility form a young age to chart the direction of their own life, as they should be.  Instead, the just accept what comes their way and if it is unpleassant they just bear it rather than charting a new course for themselves.

The answer to this dilemma is to give child more say in what they do, in all areas of their life, until they reach the point where they are in full command of their life, creating the life they want to lead, not an unsuitable life that's been handed to them by unknowing adults.
