Critics of drug-based medicine who tend to favour more natural approaches can have mixed feelings about socialised medicine.
After all, their favourite medicines and healers don't tend to be covered by a drug-based care system.
So they are essentially contributing to a system they have little belief in.
Few doubt the value of modern emergency medicine but many have doubts about chronic care.
These things aren't reflected in current government health policy, which favours high-tech, big business driven medicine, with little support for more natural, low-tech approaches.
